A Tow Truck Towing a Vehicle Catches on Fire on the 15 Freeway

FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A tow truck towing a vehicle caught fire, causing a major backup on southbound Interstate 15 early Thursday afternoon. (Photo above is credit by Scott Devol)

The fire was reported in the area of southbound I-15 Sierra Avenue exit, about 2:20pm on June 20, 2024, according to CHP traffic log.

The tow truck did stop on the right shoulder and waited for the fire department. The unknown box truck the tow truck was hauling became fully engulfed in flame when the fire crews arrived.

The tow truck belongs to Haddick’s Towing that had minor damage and was saved.

No injuries were reported and no word yet on what caused the fire on the vehicle.
