JOHNSON VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person is dead and two people were hospitalized following a fiery, two-vehicle head-on crash in Johnson Valley Monday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol. (Photo above is credit by San Bernardino County Fire Department.)
On Monday, July 15, 2024 at approximately 2:29pm San Bernardino County firefighters and CHP responded to a head on collision involving a Semi-Truck hauling multiple propane tanks and a Honda possibly a Civic on Highway 247 near Rattlesnake Canyon Road in the town of Johnson Valley.
Multiple callers stated both vehicles had caught fire and had explosions coming from the Semi-Truck.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a Honda unknown model fully engulfed in flames, and multiple propane tanks that came off the semi-truck after it overturned. The tanks had exploded prior to their arrival.
Sadly, the driver of the Honda was deceased at the scene.
Two people in the semi-truck were transported by ground ambulance to a local trauma center.
Highway 247 is under a hard closure in this area.
