VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighters have successfully extinguished a brush fire that burned close to Southbound Interstate 15 and Amargosa Road in Victorville, according to the Victorville City Fire Department. (Photo above is credit by Coqiuo Gnz.)

The Amargosa Fire, as it was called, was reported shortly before 12pm on Wednesday July 17, 2024, on Amargosa Rd. near I-15 Freeway, according to fire department reports.

As of 1pm, the fire has burned leas than 2 acres and said forward progress has been stopped.

Traffic had been blocked in both directions on Amargosa through the stretch between Main Street and Bear Valley Rd. Officials urged motorists to use alternate routes.

Fire crews would remain at the scene mopping up and dousing hot spots for several hours.

The cause was under investigation.
