The accident happened on November 3, 2024 around 7am on northbound Interstate 15 Ranchero Rd. offramp.
The California Highway Patrol says the driver of the semi-truck hauling a storage container may have taken the offramp too fast on the exit ramp and lost control. The semi-truck went off the right side of the ramp, overturned, blocking the entire ramp, and causing it to close.
Recuse crews responded to the scene and confirmed the driver was trapped in the cab and would require extrication. The driver did suffer minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital.
Tiredness and impaired driving do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
CHP said the driver could be cited for reckless operation.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time.
