SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Female passenger wounded in a car-to-car shooting early Saturday morning on southbound Interstate 215.

The incident happened before 4:30am on Saturday November 16, 2024 on southbound 215 freeway just after Devore Road. It was reported three women from Hesperia, were traveling in a car on their way to a church event in Madera. They noticed two vehicles were tailing them. One of the vehicles flashed their lights on, according to the front seat passenger.

Shots were fired from one of the two vehicles. At least three bullets hit the woman vehicle. One of the bullets struck the rear passenger in the upper leg.

One of the ladies called 911 as they pulled off the freeway at Palm Avenue/Kendall Dr exit, then pulled into a Shell gas Station where California Highway Patrol officers and emergency responders arrived and the injured woman was taken by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The California Highway Patrol Inland Division is investigating the incident, which they believe was unprovoked. CHP is asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

At this time no info on the driver or the vehicles.

CHP briefly closed the 215 freeway down Monday afternoon at Devore Rd. to Palm/Kendall Dr to check for more evidence.
