The incident happened around 11:23pm on November 23, 2024, on Summit Valley Road, near Trout Road. The two vehicles were involved was a white Toyota Corolla sedan and a red Ford Escape SUV.

San Bernardino County Fire Department rescue crews came to the scene and reported that both drivers needed to be airlifted to a nearby trauma hospitals. Mercy Air #2 and Reach Air Medical #13 landed nearby, at Hesperia Airport to transport. Both patients reported to be in critical conditions at that time.

Summit Valley Rd was closed from at least two hours early Sunday morning.
