HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night on southbound Interstate 15 in Hesperia, according to the California Highway Patrol. (Photo above is credit by High Desert Incidents)
Officials said the fatal wreck occurred in southbound lanes on I-15 just south of the Main Street exit just before 11:30pm on Friday December 13, 2024.
The driver had to be traveling at an excessively fast rate of speed” just before the wreck.
This caused the unknown make or model sedan to collide into the back of a semi tractor-trailer. The impact causes the sedan quickly engulfed in flames, and with one person inside.
According to CHP traffic logs, a Good Samaritan on scene attempted to pull out the driver of the burning sedan, but was unsuccessful due to the vehicle doors being locked and the flames.
The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene by San Bernardino County Fire Rescue. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
