PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A search is underway for at least one semi driver who hit a pedestrian and didn’t stop to help the man, California Highway Patrol say.

The crash occurred just before 7pm on Saturday December 14, 2024, on Highway 138 near Montova Drive.              

According to CHP traffic log, officers and fire rescue responded to a report of man down on the shoulder of Hwy 138 and found the man with major injuries.

It was reported the pedestrian was walking on foot in traffic lanes and was hit by the mirror of a red Robertson’s big rig. The driver of the semi honked and continued down the highway.

AMR transported the male pedestrian to Community Hospital and listed with unknown condition, according to the statement.
