GoFundMe Fundraiser Set Up for the Family of the Semi Driver Killed in a Crash due to Gusty Winds

FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Authorities have identified a 58-year-old semi-truck driver who died when his vehicle was blown over on the 210/I-15 Freeway corridor.

The incident happened around 9:26 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, during a powerful Santa Ana wind event.

Don Juan Hernández from Muscoy was driving his semi tractor-trailer on the westbound 210 Freeway transition ramp to southbound Interstate 15 Freeway, when a strong gust of wind blew his semi over on its side. When the rescue team arrived on scene, Hernández was trapped inside the cab with the guardrail pinning him.

San Bernardino County Fire and Rancho Cucamonga Fire units responded to the scene and confirmed that extrication was necessary to safely remove Hernández from the cab. Hernández was transported to a local trauma center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The family has launched a GoFundMe account to help the family with the funeral expenses and related expenses. Click on the GoFundMe link to help out.
