CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A man went to a hospital Wednesday shortly after he suffered an apparent medical emergency while driving in the Cajon Pass, leading to a multiple crashes. (Photo above is credit by Eduardo F. Olvera)

At about 5:17pm on March 26, 2025, California Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run crash on northbound Interstate 15 just after the Kenwood Avenue exit, according to the CHP traffic log.

Investigators believe the male driver on a white Dodge Caravan was traveling on north I-15 when he suffered an apparent medical emergency and hit a grey Hyundai Elantra sedan and then a white small work van. He and the Dodge continued up I-15, and came to a stop just before Cleghorn Road exit.

The driver reportedly struck several (up to seven) vehicles stated on the CHP traffic log. He also hit the concrete center median wall before the vehicle became disabled in the #3 and #4 lanes.

San Bernardino County Fire were dispatched to the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital where he was admitted in “unknown condition”.

A witness stated the man definitely had a medical emergency and was coming out of it when the vehicle came to a stop.

Everybody involved in the incident was uninjured, according to reports.

No criminal charges are reported at this time.
