CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A driver was hospitalized after a crash involving a car and a semi tactor-trailer on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Thursday morning.
Emergency crews responded after a car slammed into the back of a semi tractor-trailer in the northbound lanes on I-15 about a mile before the Cleghorn Road exit, according to San Bernardino County Fire Rescue.
The crash happened on Thursday May 1, 2025, The two vehicles involving in the incident was a semi tractor-trailer with rear trailer damage and a red Honda Accord sedan with heavy front-end damage.
Officials said the driver and only occupant was trapped inside with major injuries, and a rescue team worked to extricate him. Minutes later, a man appeared to be walking with help and bleeding from his head. He was taken to a local hospital in a ambulance.
Northbound was completely shut down for the cleanup with debris littered the roadway and to move the Honda out of lanes, but has since reopened.
It was reported the driver of the Honda was speeding at high speeds prior to the collision.
The semi driver was not hurt in the collision.
