APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A wildfire that sparked Tuesday afternoon quickly scorched hundreds of acres in San Bernardino County.
The Ranch Fire broke out about 1:37pm June 10, 2025, near Bowen Ranch Road and Coxey Truck Trail, south of the city of Apple Valley.
At 3pm the fire grew to 396 acres with rapid rate of spread with the afternoon gusty winds.
As of 5:30 pm, CAL FIRE reports that the fire has grown to 2,000+ acres with 0% containment.
According to officials, the fire is threatening multiple structures that is spread out in the desert. Officials say fire behavior has intensified due to increasing afternoon winds, high temperatures, and low humidity. All the weather is contributing to the rapid spread of the fire.

The designated evacuation shelter is the Sitting Bull Academy, at 19445 Sitting Bull Road, in Apple Valley.
The New Animal Evacuation Shelter is at the Victorville Fairgrounds, at14800 7th Street, in Victorville.
An Evacuation Order remains in effect for the area from Milpas Drive to High Road, south of Highway 18 until further notice.
It looks some vehicles have fire damage or been destroyed.
At this time at least one structures have been destroyed.
As of 9pm the fire is 2,800 acres with 0% containment.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Update at 7pm on Wednesday the Evacuation Order for the areas from Milpas Dr to High Rd south of HWY 18 has now been lifted. The fire is at 4,204 with 25% contain.
