HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A small vegetation fire erupted Friday afternoon along Highway 138 in Hesperia, prompting a quick response from firefighters.

The so-called West Fire was reported shortly before 1pm June 13, 2025, on Hwy 138 near Summit Valley Road.

Firefighters had to shut down the highway to attack the flames.

At 1:15pm forward rate of spread was stop at one acre burned.

Highway was reopened at 4:20pm.

No evacuations, structural damage or injuries were immediately reported.

The cause of the fire was unknown.
