SILVERWOOD LAKE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The Lake Fire is now 15% contained on Sunday afternoon after burning 485 acres near Silverwood Lake and prompting mandatory evacuations on Highway 138 on Saturday, officials said.
The fire erupted Saturday afternoon around 3:50pm June 28, 2025, inside the Silverwood Lake day use/camping area off of Cleghorn Road.
No injuries or structural damage were reported.
Fire crews worked through the afternoon and night to build containment lines.
An evacuation order for the area south of Highway 138 between the 15 Freeway and Highway was downgraded to an evacuation warning.
Forward progress was stopped around noon on Sunday with some major flare ups with the afternoon winds.
The only closures at this time is the Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area and Highway 138 is closed at Hwy 173 to Old Mills Road in Crestline.
