APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Fire crews quickly converged on a brush fire that ignited Friday morning in the Deep Creek Hot Springs hills, according to San Bernardino County Fire.
Fire crews responded to reports of a fire near Bowen Ranch Road and Hot Spring Trail south of Apple Valley around 11am on September 5, 2025. Initial reports said flames had burned about 2 acres, the blaze heading uphill with a gusty breeze pushing the flames.
The blaze, named the Springs Fire consumed 33 acres before crews halted its forward progress, which San Bernardino County Fire reported at 12:30pm.
Air tankers and water-dropping helicopters were “actively engaged” helping ground crews. Early on, the agency estimated that the fire had the potential to grow to between 25 to 50+ acres.
The cause of the blaze in under investigation.
