SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Suspect fleeing San Bernardino police, causing a semi to overtured on northbound 215 Freeway Friday morning.
As police tried to pull an unknown black Chevrolet vehicle over, the vehicle did not stop and continuing traveled down the road. The suspect jump on northbound 215 freeway traveling at high speeds.
According to San Bernardino Police, the suspect’s vehicle hit a semi tractor-trailer at about 2:37am September 5, 2025 on northbound I-215 freeway just before the Palm Avenue/Kendall Drive exit.
The contact sent both vehicles to lose control, the semi tractor-trailer overturned and crash into the center divider blocking all the lanes. The suspect vehicle reportedly went off the right shoulder of the freeway, rollover and crashed in the trailer.
The suspect or suspects took off on foot and could not locate stated in the CHP traffic log.
The crash causes a full freeway closure of northbound lanes at University Parkway.
Caltrans Hazmat was requested after more than 60 gallons of diesel leaked into a center divider. Heavy duty tow trucks responded to assist with recovery operations. With Caltrans replacing guardrail damage.
Around 11am they open the slow lane.
Just after 12pm noon all lanes were reopened.
No further details regarding any injuries or arrests were available at this time.
