KELBAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighters worked through the early morning to extinguish a brush fire near Interstate 40 freeway that reached 5 acres in size.
The Kelbaker Fire was reported around 2:39am May 3, 2026 next to I-40 freeway and near Kelbaker Road, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department.
Multiple fire crews deployed to the location where the fire was moving at a moderate rate of spread and topography driven, officials said.
No homes or structures were immediately threatened.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, and no injuries were immediately reported.
