SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain in The Pass) >> A suspect was taken into custody following a standoff at the end of a chase on northbound 215 Freeway.
It stemmed from a chase that started when officers made a traffic stop on the black GMC Terrain SUV with a male suspect around 6pm June 4, 2026. The suspect pulled over and allegedly backed into the police vehicle. The suspect took off and a pursuit was started. Also it was reported the vehicle was possibly stolen.
After a short pursuit ended at what appeared to be the OnStar disabled the vehicle on northbound I 215 freeway between the 210 freeway and University Parkway exit just before 7pm.
San Bernardino Police with help of the California Highway Patrol needed to shutdown the freeway in both directions while the suspect refused to cooperate.
Around 7:30pm the suspect was taken into custody with help by a K9 and multiple officers.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for K9 bites.
