BAKER, CA. (Pain in The Pass) >> A fire with large plumes of black smoke caused alarm in the town of Baker Tuesday afternoon as crews battled the flames.
Fire crews responded to the area of Kelbaker Road and Mever Lane. next to the 15 Freeway around 3pm June 9, 2026.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, debris was burning inside a large, 50 x 100 Feet pile of rubbish with no threat to the vegetation nearby.
Smoke was visible in the area and on Interstate 15 for miles.
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
