FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A truck-trailer’s brakes caught fire on northbound Interstate 15 in Fontana on Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire, crews responded to I-15 northbound just after the 210 Freeway interchange for a semi tractor-trailer brake fire. The incident happened at about 4:34am June 28, 2026.
The fire department said crews checked for extension into the load of portable building that the trailer was hauling, but found none. The fire was quickly contained to the brakes. The portable did sustain some fire damage.
No injuries were reported.
Multiple lanes were closed while crews operated on the scene.
