MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi-tractor burst into flames Wednesday morning along Interstate 15 near Stateline.
The fire happened on the northbound lanes of I-15 near the Yates Well Road Exit, just before 8am July 29, 2026. California Highway Patrol and fire crews had to shut down all northbound lanes to fight the fire.
The driver was able to detach the tractor from the trailer to save the trailer from catching fire. The semi was carrying an unknown product not listed on the traffic log.
The cab was almost fully engulfed in flames.
It looks like a problem with one of the back tires on the tractor is the cause of the problem.
No injuries were reported.
