CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) crew are continuing with electrical work on the $25 million on the new Weigh-in-Motion Station Project along southbound Interstate 15 at the top of the Cajon Pass.
This initiative includes the development of a new CHP facility featuring a truck safety inspection area located between Hesperia and the Cajon Pass.
Completion of the project is expected by October or in November of 2026, although the schedule may be subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen factors.
The current facility is closed while crews conduct daytime operations, Monday through Friday, from 7am to 4pm each day. One lane or shoulder closures may be implemented as necessary to facilitate equipment movement and work activities. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and exercise caution.
