CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> No injuries are reported after a Kia caught fire on northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Saturday afternoon.
The vehicle fire was reported at around 1:46pm on September 26, 2026, on north I-15 about a mile after the Kenwood Avenue exit on the right shoulder.
The occupants of the brown Kia Sorento SUV were able to get out before emergency crews arrived, California Highway Patrol said.
Fire crews were on scene responding to the fire and needing the slow lane to be shut down.
Flames from the car fire did ignite the nearby hillside brush and was quickly extinguish.
There was no immediate word on what caused the fire.
