DEVORE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County Fire battled two Semi tractor-trailer in three days in the Cajon Pass and this snarls the Monday morning commute.
According to California Highway Patrol, fire crews were called out around 9:32pm Saturday October 4, 2026, on southbound Interstate 15 in the truck bypass ramp on the right shoulder. From reports the flames were coming from the rear trailer brakes. for what started as a smoke investigation. The Battalion Chief upgraded it to a fully involved trailer after on scene.
Two right lanes were blocked during the fire flight and clean-up. A SIG alert was issued at 12:10am Monday morning for about 6 hours for the clean up and removal of the trailer.
Once firefighters extinguished the flames that had spread into the surrounding vegetation, crews worked through the night and morning to clear the debris.
At 6am they add an extra 3 hours for the cleanup and to inspected the bridge for damage. Around 11am all lanes were reopened. At one point traffic was backed up all the way pass Main Street.
No injuries were reported.
