SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash off the 10 Freeway that occurred early Thursday morning in San Bernardino.
The crash happened just before 4am Thursday August 18, 2022. The location was on eastbound Interstate 10 at the Waterman Avenue onramp. California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving an gray Nissan Maxima sedan.
According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Log, the driver of the Nissan lost control at an unknown speed. The car veered onto the right shoulder. The crash into about 80 feet of guardrail and rolled-over multiple times, landing off of the freeway.
Firefighters rendered aid to one person involved in the crash. The driver succumbed to their injuries sustained in the collision.
That person’s identity has not been released publicly at this time.
The incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
