(Pain In The Pass) >> After an initial report that there was an unknown second vehicle that struck a red pickup truck on Highway 138 causing injury to the driver Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol has since revised this from a hit-and-run incident. The crash occurred at about 4:03am on October 10, 2024, on Highway 138, about two miles away from Interstate 15.
The driver of the unknown make and model red pickup truck was traveling on Hwy 138 when a Gray Chrysler 300 sedan caused the crash. It was reported the driver of the Chrysler cut off the red pickup truck. The truck lost control, hit the right-hand shoulder guardrail. The truck went through the guardrail and went down the embankment about 75 feet, landing on its side. The driver was able to get out of the crashed truck.
The driver of the gray Chrysler 300 sedan reportedly pulled over on Hwy 138 near Interstate 15 at a stop sign about 2 miles away from the accident. Its unknown if CHP was able to talk to the driver.
The driver of the pickup truck did sustain injuries that were not believed to have been life-threatening.
