HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A 22-year-old woman from Rancho Cucamonga has died after losing control and crashing into the Aqueduct Monday morning.
The crash reported happened around 2:07am June 30, 2025, on Highway 395 and the California Aqueduct.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s has identified the driver as Kristy A. Knox, 22, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga.
From the preliminary crash report. Knox’s was driving her white Mini Cooper, she attempted to pass another vehicle in front of her by using the right-hand shoulder, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
She appeared to have lost control of her vehicle and plunged into the aqueduct.
Officers called for the San Bernardino County Swift Water Rescue Team. Knox was not able to escape the car before it submerged into the aqueduct.
Divers were able to locate the vehicle, and attach a tow strap. They were successfully pulled the car from the water.
Knox was discovered inside her Mini Cooper.
This incident will be under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department
