COLTON, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County Sheriff’s say one person have been arrested in connection with a string of vehicle thefts in recent months in San Bernardino County.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s has been seeing a large number of vehicle thefts involving the use of a white unmarked tow truck. Detectives from various stations collaborated and developed leads in the case.
Andy Joel Bonilla, 30-years-old, resident of Colton was identified as a suspect in the case. Detectives believe there are other unknown suspects who conspired with Bonilla to commit the thefts.
On Thursday, January 22, 2026, investigators from the San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force (SANCATT), and investigators from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in Colton, CA. Bonilla was arrested at the scene without incident. After the arrest, a large number of stolen vehicles and components were located.
Investigators also found evidence of vehicle thefts outside of San Bernardino County linked to Bonilla and are asking anyone with information related to this case or who may have been victimized by Bonilla to contact Detective B.
