COLTON, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> A 24-year-old woman was hit and killed by a car after the California Highway Patrol says she ran out into traffic on southbound Interstate 215 near Washington Street exit.
The woman has been identified as Nykeyia Josephine Lewis of Riverside.
On Saturday February 14, 2026, just before 4am. CHP officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian in the car pool lane.
CHP said the driver contacted 9-1-1, and remained on the scene.
Lewis was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
