CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) Three men have been arrested with burglarizing a cargo train car Thursday morning, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office.
A witness reported seeing several people unloading boxes from a train car into a vehicle around 6am on Thursday March 12, 2026. The train, carrying cargo, had been sitting on the tracks running through the Cajon Pass. The train stopped near southbound Interstate 15 just north of Highway 138, according to a written statement.
Multiple deputies responded to the area and arrived with help from the California Highway Patrol and a sheriff’s helicopter overhead.
According to the written statement, deputies found several suspects hiding in heavy brush near the scene. When deputies tried to contact them, the suspects ran, leading authorities on a foot pursuit onto the 15 freeway and through a nearby drainage tunnel.
With help from CHP, BNSF Railway Police, and the sheriff’s helicopter said, three suspects were taken into custody.
Authorities identified the three men as 24-year-old Bladhir Acuta Gerson of Maywood, 28-year-old Jesus Baez Vega of Hesperia and 20-year-old Fernando Osuna Sanchez of Riverside.
All three were arrested and taken to the High Desert Detention Center, where they were booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property.
