HELENDALE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Brush fire spreads across at least 10 acres in Helendale Tuesday night.
San Bernardino County Fire, CAL Fire, and other fire crews responded to the so-called National Fire at about 6:33pm on March 24, 2026, near National Trail Highway and Vista Road.
Firefighters found approximately 2 acres of brush and burning in the river bottom. With the afternoon evening winds contributed to the fire’s rapid expansion, prompting the request for additional units.
Crews worked for approximately two hours to contain the fire and extinguish hot spots. The fire burned about 10 to 15 acres in total before being brought under control.
No structural damage or injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
