CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pickup truck caught fire on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The incident, which was reported shortly after 1:47pm May 1, 2026, involved a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was heading north on I-15 about a mile after the Kenwood Avenue exit in the center divider.
California Highway Patrol and fire crews from San Bernardino County Fire responded and were able to extinguish the flames.
CHP was on scene said the driver pulled over to the center divider of the roadway after noticing smoke from the engine compartment. The man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was able to safely get out.
No injuries were reported.
