CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A box truck driver that reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a gold-colored sedan early Monday morning at the top of the Cajon Pass.
The crash was reported about 1:07am on May 11, 2026. The location of the crash was on the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 about a mile after the Oak Hill Road exit, according to California Highway Patrol officers and the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
A preliminary investigation suggests the driver of the white large box truck may have fallen asleep while driving. The box truck made contact with a gold Toyota Avalon sedan. Then the box truck lost control and hit center divider guardrail.
No injuries were reported in the wreck.
