BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A woman has died of injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle rollover crash Monday morning on Interstate 15 near the town of Baker, authorities said.
The crash was reported at about 6:51am on May 11, 2026, near mile marker 143 about seven miles before the town of Baker on southbound I-15.
California Highway Patrol stated in a news release, a 24-year-old woman was driving an orange Nissan Kicks Subcompact SUV south on I-15 in the No. 1 Lane with two passengers inside the vehicle.
Investigators said the driver of the Nissan drifted out of her lane and crashed into the rear of a blue Toyota Tundra traveling in the No. 2 Lane. After the initial contact, the Nissan continued southbound before striking a guardrail and overturned multiple times.
One female passenger was ejected during the crash and later pronounced dead at a hospital, according to CHP. The remaining occupants of the Nissan sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire determined they need multiple Medvec helicopters to land near the scene.
Mercy Air #66 helicopter landed at the airport with crews loaded one person on the helicopter and transported to University Medical Center Southern Nevada UMC Hospital.
Mercy Air #21 helicopter landed at the airport with crews loaded one person on the helicopter and transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley.
The coroner say they won’t release her name until family has been notified.
