CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Authorities continued their investigation Tuesday morning into a head-on collision on Highway 138 that left drivers injuries.
The crash was reported shortly before 4am June 2, 2026, on Hwy 138, near Summit Post Office Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers said the two-vehicle involved in the collision was a gray Jeep Wrangler and a black Toyota Camry sedan. One vehicle was traveling westbound and the other was traveling eastbound “for an unknown reason,” one of the vehicles left the road, went through center line and collided into each other.
California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire arrived to find a Toyota sedan with heavy front-end damage and a Jeep upside down with major damage to the Jeep.
One person was pinned in their vehicle, prompting an immediate rescue and extrication operation.
At this time, we don’t know the total of victims involved in the collision and all were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
A section of the highway between Summit Valley Road and I-15 reopened around 6am being closed for about two hours due to the collision.
