HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The driver killed has been ID after he crashed into the back of a semi-truck and rolled over multiple times “at a high rate of speed” on Interstate 15 Saturday morning.
The driver has been ID as 36-year-old Michael Farace of Costa Mesa.
According to the CHP traffic log, the crash happened around 4:24am on Saturday June 20, 2026, on northbound I-15, just after the Ranchero Road exit. The vehicle landed off the right shoulder of the freeway.
He was driving his of a Volkswagen Jetta sedan at a high rate of speed prior to losing control, and hit the back wheels of a semi-truck with no trailer. The impact was forceful enough to cause the sedan to rollover off the right side of the freeway. The vehicle reportedly took out about 25 feet of chain-link fence.
First responders-initiated life-saving measures on the Farace, sadly he was deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The factor what lead up to the collision in under investigation.
