California Highway Patrol and CAL Fire were getting calls of a vehicle on fire northbound 15 just before Minneola Road about 1:03pm May 8, 2023.
CHP and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down one lane while they worked on getting the cab extinguished.
The sad news the tractor burned down to the chassis and burned about half the trailer before the fire crews were able to control the flames.
Everybody did escape the semi before the cab became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene.
The cause of the semi fire is unknown at this time. It was unknown what the trailer was reported to be loaded, according to the CHP traffic log.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
