NEEDLES, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> An 11-year-old boy from San Bernardino was killed in a Thanksgiving traffic accident near the Arizona/California border near Needles on November 28, 2019 .  The California Highway Patrol is calling the crash a hit and run accident.

The CHP said the crash happened in rainy/icy conditions at 6:41pm on the eastbound side of Interstate 40 west of River Road. The vehicle lost control and overturned on the shoulder, causing the boy to be ejected onto the highway, CHP said.

A passing unknown description of the vehicle struck the boy lying on the highway, the driver probably didn’t realize they hit a person.

Kennedy Francisco was pronounced dead at the scene, by the San Bernardino County Coroner.

Francisco’s mother and two siblings were also serious injured in the accident.
