VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A three vehicle crash on Interstate 15 caused a big rig semi to go off the freeway just after midnight on Sunday.

This traffic accident was reported at 12:13am on Sunday May 17, 2020. All three vehicles were driving in the southbound lanes on Interstate 15 between Nisqualli/La Mesa Road and Bear Valley Road.

The three vehicles were involved in the crash were a black Jeep vehicle, a dark gray Chevy sedan, and a big rig semi pulling a trailer.

California Highway Patrol and Victorville Fire Department responded to the incident and called for at least 3 ambulances to the scene.

The semi went off the freeway. It went through about 120 feet of chain-link fence and landed on it’s wheels on Amargosa Rd in front of Office Max.

The accident temporarily blocked the fast lane on southbound 15 and only northbound Amargosa Road as they worked to move the big rig off the side-road and to fix the fence.

A witness stated the driver of the sedan was speeding prior to losing control and spinning-out then hit the Jeep. Then they were in the path of the big rig that could not stop in time and hit both of them sending the big rig off the freeway.

There is no word yet on how many people were injured or were transported to a local hospital at this time.

Update from the CHP the driver of the Chevrolet was, Curtis Eugene Hubbard, 62, a resident of North Las Vegas, was arrested for DUI.

The crash is still under investigation by the CHP Victorville Station, for there is no word on who was at fault.

CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
