SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Another pedestrian was struck and killed in a motor vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 215 before the Palm Ave/Kendall Dr. exit.

This is the third pedestrian killed this month on northbound Interstate 215 in San Bernardino from the 210 freeway up to Interstate 15 in Devore.

According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Log calls were received at 11:37pm Thursday night. A pedestrian had been hit on the 215 freeway in the north-end of San Bernardino on May 28, 2020.

When CHP arrived on the scene, a pedestrian was found unresponsive in the slow lane. Shortly after they pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.

The vehicles that hit the pedestrian were two big rig semi both with front end damage and did stop on the freeway shoulder and the drivers did call 911. Both drivers did remain on the scene for questioning, according to the CHP traffic log.

At 11:47pm CHP temporarily shut down both northbound lanes for a investigation.

At 12:20am CHP opened the #1 lane.

CHP opened the slow lane at 2:18am.

CHP officials said, both truck drivers are not suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Also the drivers are not found to be at fault, there is no plan to file charges.

The was no vehicle in the area that could have been the pedestrians vehicle.

This accident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Inland Office. Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to call (909) 383-4247.
