FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Department of Transportation Caltrans will continue the new Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Interstate 15 in the city of Fontana on Friday July 31 – Sunday August 2.

This roadwork project includes repaving the three lanes in both directions, repaving the on and off ramps, replace the bridge guardrails, and slab replacement in lanes.

Roadwork on northbound and southbound 15 side from Sierra Ave to Glen Helen Pkwy.

This weeks Lane closures for northbound will start at about a mile before Sierra Ave. to about a mile after Glen Helen Pkwy.

  • Roadwork will start at 11pm Friday night, Saturday ALL DAY and ends at 3pm Sunday*. At least 1 lane will be open, the #1, #2, and the #3 lane will be closed all weekend in the northbound directions.
  • EXPECT DELAYS at less 30 minutes to over a hour to pass the roadwork area.

They are working on the Lytle Creek Bridge this weekend.

Glen Helen Pkwy and Sierra Ave on and off ramps will be open during the closure time.

The work schedule will be subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues.

*Lanes may open earlier if they finish.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes by taking the 215 freeway or side streets and to always reduce your speed through the work zones.

Caltrans expects to complete the project by February 2021.
