HARVARD, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash involving two semi trucks Wednesday morning closed all lanes on the northbound direction of Interstate 15 between Harvard Road and the town of Baker. If you are going to Stateline or Las Vegas expect delays.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened about 3:41am February 10, 2021. About 2 miles from Alvord Mountain Road exit of I-15.

The crash involved two semi-trucks. One semi was a UPS set of doubles with major damage to the cab of the truck. The other semi was a white tractor with no company name, it was reported to be fully loaded of yogurt.

The UPS with the set of doubles cargo package truck was leaking diesel from the fuel tanks. About 60 gallons of diesel leaked in the ditch of the right shoulder of the freeway. The other semi trailer was damaged at the end of the trailer and had a rip from the collision. This semi was carrying yogurt cups and spilled about half of its load onto the freeway.

The UPS semi driver was reported to be transported by Mercy Air #66 Air Ambulance to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The other semi driver was okay with no injuries.

A SIG Alert was issued at 4:10am. Traffic was diverted off at Harvard Road and turned around onto southbound I-15.

Caltrans opened up the #1 at 10:15am. The #2 lane will still be closed for hours due to cleanup and removal of debris.

Update at 5:15pm CHP and Caltrans reopened all the lanes.

It is not clear what caused the crash.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.

CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
