VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Three people were rushed to hospitals by air ambulance and three by ground ambulance after a serious head-on collision in the city of Victorville.

Victorville Police and Victorville Fire Department received calls of a head-on crash that happened about 1:20pm on Wednesday February 17, 2021.

The two-vehicle crash shut down Amargosa Road in both directions between Gabriel Road and Smoke Tree. The crash was located on Amargosa Rd by John Street/Mesa Street

This crash was on the side road of Interstate 15, this caused traffic to slow for hours.

A total of five in the Hyundai sedan all had major head injuries. Four of the five were flown by helicopters. Two Reach Air Medical helicopters, Reach #43, Reach #13 and Mercy Air #2 all went to Loma Linda University Medical Center. The other patient from the car and other patents two from the SUV were transported by ground ambulance with unknown injuries to a local hospital.

The vehicles involved in the head on crash were a blue Hyundai Sonata and a Sliver SUV unknown make or model. Both with heavy front end damage.

The road was shut down for over two hours for the rescue and for the cleanup.

One of the vehicles crossed the center line and struck the other vehicle.

This incident will be under investigation by the Victorville Police Department.
