CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A vehicle lost control, hit the guardrail and caught fire, causing major traffic on this Friday get-a-way weekend.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a crash and the vehicle on fire. Reported on northbound Interstate 15 just before Oak Hills Road. This happened at about 1:15pm Friday afternoon on March 5, 2021.
The vehicle involved in the crash and fire was reported to be a black Ford sedan unknown model.
The driver did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene.
CHP issued a SIG Alert for about an hour for the #4 and #5 lanes for the clean-up and removal of the vehicle.
It was unclear what caused the crash. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
