FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Department of Transportation Caltrans will continue the Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Interstate 15 in the city of Fontana has been cancelled for Friday September 17 – Saturday morning September 18 this weekend. Both northbound and southbound I-15 this weekend. ONLY 1 LANE WILL BE OPEN in both directions*. A new date will be posted next week.

This roadwork project includes repaving the four lanes in both directions, repaving the on and off ramps, replace the bridge, guardrails, and slab replacement in lanes.

Southbound lanes will close at 8pm to 8am Friday night – Saturday morning* (They may start early before 8pm)
• Lane Closures The I-15 southbound will have 3 of 4 lanes closed for pavement work from Glen Helen Parkway to Sierra Avenue. One lane will remain open to traffic.
• Ramp Closures Southbound Glen Helen Avenue on ramp will be closed. Detour map for southbound I-15 from the Cajon Pass, use the I-215 south to westbound 210 freeway to avoid delays and congestion. see map below.

Northbound 11:30pm to 10:30am Friday night – Saturday morning*
• Lane Closures The I-15 northbound will have 3 of 4 lanes closed for pavement work from Sierra Avenue to Glen Helen Parkway. One lane will remain open to traffic.
• Ramp Closures Northbound Sierra Avenue on ramp will be closed. Detour map for northbound traffic use eastbound 210 freeway to the northbound I-215 to avoid delays and congestion. see map below.

*Lanes may open earlier if they finish early. The work schedule will be subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues. Always reduce your speed through the work zone. Caltrans expects to complete the project by end of 2021.
