HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> An allegedly drunk driver was pulled out after his car went off the road on Highway 138 in Hesperia. It rolled over and started a small brush fire Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

California Highway Patrol, CAL Fire, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were getting calls of a single-vehicle car crash on eastbound Highway 138. At about 8:09pm Saturday July 9, 2022 a white Kia Soul was located about one mile from Summit Valley Road on the north side of the highway.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene when they found a car about 50 feet off of the roadway. The male driver was pulled from the wreckage with minor cuts to his face before the vehicle and brush was fully ingulfed in flames.

Firefighters conducted a search of the area and confirmed there were no other people that could have been ejected from the vehicle.

The fire burned less than an acre before firefighters stopped it.

Investigators believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash and the driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a witness.
