HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A portion of Interstate 15 was closed again on Sunday morning for a five vehicle crash following a earlier fatal accident that lead to the traffic jam.

This second crash occurred around 2:10am, resulting in injuries. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a collision on northbound Interstate 15 just before Main Street exit on Sunday on August 21, 2022.

The five vehicles involved in this crash were a white Honda unknown model, a Mercedes-Benz unknown model, a Kia unknown model, a gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a big rig according to the CHP traffic log. On arrival, firefighters located the Toyota with heavy rear-end damage, blocking the #1 with the big rig. The other three vehicles were blocking the other two lanes.

Rescue crews requested multiple ambulances for the injured victims. One person from the Toyota was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. Other people were reported to be have minor injuries.

The fast lane and the middle lane were reopened after about an hour and a half. Traffic was backedup all the way to Ranchero Road.
