COLTON, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will continue work on the new Washington Street over the 215 freeway

The 215 Freeway at Washington Street in Colton will be closed between 9pm Monday night, Nov. 14, to 5 am* and Tuesday night, Nov. 15 9pm to 5am*, so Colton workers can install a water line on the bridge.

Monday night Full Freeway Closure in both directions.

Tuesday night ONLY one lane will be open in both directions.

The job is in the same area as Caltrans’ ongoing 215 Freeway Washington Street Bridge Replacement Project.

Traffic will start being diverted well ahead of Washington Street, a Caltrans spokeswoman said last week.

Detours will be in place to help drivers navigate the area during the closure.

As far as the larger project, Caltrans expects to complete the new Washington Street bridge by summer 2024.
