HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A Hesperia man was killed and one person injured in a two vehicle crash due to suspected black ice Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash. The incident took place at about 4:21am January 18, 2023. The location of the crash was on Highway 138 about 2 miles west of Summit Valley Road (Hesperia side).
Reports from the CHP traffic log, the vehicle involved in the crash was a Ford Explore SUV and a Dodge Ram pickup truck. The investigation revealed the driver of the Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound on Hwy 138 (towards Hesperia) at an unknown speed, lost control of the vehicle, went up a dirt hillside, and overturned onto the highway.
The driver was ejected from the truck and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other person was transported by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
