SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two vehicles street racing on southbound Interstate 215 downtown San Bernardino. One of the vehicle lost control slamming into the concrete center divider authorities said Saturday.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving a Red Nissan 270z sport car and a white Infiniti unknown model at about 9:51am Saturday April 8, 2023. The collision was located on southbound Interstate 215 at the Mill Street exit.
Both drivers were speeding weaving in and out of freeway lanes prior to the crash. The driver of the red Nissan lost control and slammed into the center divider concrete wall head-on. The driver didn’t suffer any significant injuries.
The driver of the white Infiniti didn’t stop.
“That’s why we tell people, ‘don’t engage in street racing,'” CHP said. “There’s all kinds of race tracks and drag strips you can go out to where it’s safe to do it. This is not the place streets of freeways.”
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
